Why are Sri Lankans sticking Spears through their cheeks?
RJ is in Sri Lanka right now, if you’ve been following his IG or Tik Tok…
He’s scoping it out for the next Saga Dawa, for us to join him on a retreat next year
There’s an offer on the Wix app.
I was checking out all the festivals they have,
One thing about India according to my Bangla Deshi co-worker is…
They love to party,
Part Hindu Sri Lanka also seems to party too.
During the Vel festival held in Colombo, devotees go through town adorned in simple white and holy ash
Murugan is the God venerated in this festival, the Val a spear like object given to Kartikeya (Murugan) by his mother to symbolise her shakti.
Devotees also pierce their cheeks and tongue with spikes to symbolise this, I like how their Divas are slightly gruesome…
Maybe Astral forms, what do you think?
Do you have a favourite Hindu story?
Leave it below in the chat, I gotta go tho we have a rare heat wave in Ireland...
Monsoon season is usually everyday and our only opportunity to get a tan is getting a bad wind burn
All the Best,
Frank
